March 31 - Linden Lab with Tom Hale

Metanomics interviewed Tom Hale, Chief Product Officer for Linden Lab (creators of Second Life) on Wednesday, March 31.

Tom Hale has been with Linden Lab since 2008 and handles the product strategy for the Lab. Metanomics host Robert Bloomfield interviewed Tom Hale on Wednesday, March 31 at 12pm PST about the busy year Linden Lab has had, from launching its Second Life Viewer 2 Beta, Second Life Enterprise and a new plan for orientation and supporting new members into Second life. Linden Lab was founded in 1999 and launched Second Life, where Metanomics is filmed, in 2003. You can watch the show on this page.

While Metanomics has interviewed employees from Linden Lab before, including CEO Mark Kingdon and founder Philip Rosedale as well as some of the people involved in launching the new Second Life viewer, we felt this was a great opportunity to discuss some of the high level strategy and planning that goes into launching new products for a virtual environment. From planning to distribution, as well as how the company handles criticism and praise for its advances, Rob Bloomfield and Tom Hale discussed a wide variety of topics.
