Updated Metanomics Summer Season Schedule

Hello Metanomics fans!

We’re on a brief hiatus now and resting the Metanomics batteries, but we’ll be back for a more relaxed summer season starting June 9th, 2010, with our regular fall season starting up on September 15!

  • Special Event: June 8 – Metanomics Mixed Reality Broadcast on New Market Dynamics, Robert Bloomfield hosts with guests Robin Teigland, Edward Castronova and Tom Boellstorff. Live from Copenhagen.

June 9 – Metanomics, Robert Bloomfield hosts. State of the Union and the vGov Initiative with Paulette Robinson, National Defense University

June 16-18 – Metanomics hosts the only virtual location for Toronto’s ideaCity Conference (admission fee.)

June 23 – Metanomics Masterclass on 3D Content with Doug Thompson/Dusan Writer hosting – Fleep Tuque (SLCC), , Reed Steamroller and Gianna Borgnine

June 30 – Metanomics Masterclass on Immersive Storytelling with Doug Thompson/Dusan Writer hosting – Jenaia Moraine and others TBA

July 7 – Metanomics Masterclass on Architecture with Doug Thompson/Dusan Writer hosting – Architects Jon Brouchoud and David Denton

Fall Season

June 3: Gracie Kendall, Auther of “The Gracie Kendal Project: A Conversation With My Avatar”

June 10: Community Discussion of LL Discovery Island in the new Metanomics Community space.

June 17: Richard Gilbert, Founder of Loyola Marymount Virtual University — LMU’s multi-sim campus in Second Life which contains LMU Psychology Island and the virtual P.R.O.S.E. Lab.

June 24: Bryan Carter, Creator of Virtual Harlem, and assistant professor of literature at Central Missouri State University . He specializes in African American literature of the 20 th Century with a primary focus on the Harlem Renaissance and has a secondary emphasis on visual culture.
