On the Spot - Weddings in SL
Today, July 7th, 2008, I had my debut as a correspondent for the Metanomics "On the Spot" segment. I am the Virtual Entrepreneur Correspondent, and hope to do a "spot or two" on business in a virtual environment, and how it effects the regular participant of said virtual world. My particular area of "expertise", as it were, is Second Life, so most of what I might report on will be centering around business in Second Life.
My first piece was about the Wedding industry, in Second Life. Beyers wanted me to do this one first, as I am actually in the midst of planning my "own" wedding this month! Something, I must say, that I would never do...but, hey! things change! *laughs* You'll have to watch the show, once it is put up online, or even go to the "Metanomics Rewind" showing Tuesday, to see the segment, but I have been told it was a nice segment. (and a good show all around!! Bettina is amazing!!!)
I was very pleased to get mentioned in a blog almost right away, too. A sweet comment at Heidi Ballinger's blog at http://heidiballinger.wordpress.com/2008/07/07/wedding-in-second-life/
with tags to Metanomics, SLCN, weddings, and "ME"!!! *laughs*
And I do look forward to doing more "On the Spot" pieces as Metanomics's Virtual Entrepreneur Correspondent! There is so much going on in Second Life's business world that is exciting, innovative, and just plain wonderful!
See you "at the Isle" real soon!!
Yxes

Not "at the Isle" for too much longer....
We hope to have the wedding clip up on YouTube in a couple of days. But the next time you come on the show, Yxes, it probably won't be "on the Isle"--we will soon be moving to our own island, Metanomics, with a surprisingly realistic rendition of Cornell's Sage Hall (home of the Johnson School). Stay tuned...
